Voxlib has a solution for your problem. They have come out with this really cool system which enables a skype user to connect to this skype account from his mobile phone and then make calls through skypeout.
The best thing is you dont have to download any special software on your mobile to make it possible. You just need to install a VOX plugin for Skype on PC and install it.
However you need to have a Skypein and Skypeout services enabled on your Skype account, so it involves some cost to have a Skypein and skypeout account. The service itself doesnt charge you anything so its completely FREE (Limited Time offer only).
Lets see how it works. There are 2 ways of making calls via Skype from your mobile
1) VOX via Skypein When you call your SkypeIn number, VOX for Skype recognizes your phone number and gives you access to your Skype contacts, their presence and to cheap long distance calls from your mobile phone through SkypeOut. Additionally, you can retrieve your Skype voicemails and be informed of any missed calls.

2) VOX via SMS
You can also access your VOX for Skype application through VoxLib's Short Message Service. Simply send a SMS to VoxLib's SMS gateway. VoxLib will automatically forward the message to your VOX application running on your PC. VOX will call you (through SkypeOut) and the specified destination, connecting you into a conference. If you send an empty message or a message containing "online", VOX will use Skype to send an SMS containing all your online contacts. With a simple SMS, you can call anywhere in the world using Skype with your mobile.

So if you really interested in this really PRO function and dont have a Skype account. Get one Now. Download Skype
I live outside USA, Can I use it?
Yes, you can use it. I thought of intelligent hack (if you post my hack on your blog/website, please give me credits for the same) to bypass only USA numbers calling the gateway number. You need to use VOIP softwares like iCall or Voipcheap to connect to their gateway number. This way you don't have to pay to connect to their gateway and anyone outside USA can also call. Of course, people in USA can also use it to save their local call charges *Wink*

I suggest all user outside of USA should use iCall, since it has better voice quality and connection than VOIPcheap while using this service. Once you are connected to the gateway number, you need to use the dialpad to dial the destination number as 011-country code-area code-Phone number. Boom your call is sent to the destination number and now you can talk freely for hours and you won't be charged for the service :P. Sweet isnt it?
One of the visitor, posted a comment/email to me about making free calls to Brazil. Now you can use this hack to make free calls to Brazil and many more countries which typically don't have a free service.
Note: At occasions, the service is loaded, means too many request to the server. In these cases, your call will fail. Out of 10 attempts, it happened about 2 times to me. However, if its FREE, it wouldn't bother much to make another attempt.
1) VOIPcheap - This is the original VOIPcheap and not the UK version of this company. Although VOIPbuster, voipcheap.co.uk uses the same software, i found this software more reliable and voice quality is of high level. This is an straight winner when it comes to making FREE calls worldwide. You can virtually call more than 50 countries on normal PSTN landlines and mobiles in singapore, USA, HK & Canada. With some hacks, you can call from countries which are not listed in FREE list but you have a work around. Check my earlier post for that hack.
Benefits: Clear voice, You can make calls from your PC. No need to buy any credits from them before making free calls. Allows PC or Phone to intiate call (via Directdial)
Drawbacks: really none.
2) Jajah: I tried jajah about 1 month back and with their FREE minutes i made calls to India. The difference between jajah and other VOIP providers is Jajah only allows you to make calls from your phone. That means You need to give your phone number and your calling party number before you can make a call. When you intiate a call Jajah first connect your phone. You pick up the call and then jajah connects to the other party.
Benefits: No software download needed. Just visit their site. No credits needed for free calls.
Drawbacks: Have to use a legitimate number before calling. Cant use PC to make call.
3) Gizmo : Popularly known as " Skype Killer". This software lets you call anyone in more than 60 countries. The only downside is that you and other party both should be registered with Gizmo and should also register your numbers. I am sure that this project will be successful and in short time the daatabase of people will be built and then its a FREE calling world.
Benefits: Making calls is easier than ever, Killer Application interface,
Drawbacks: Requires both parties to register their numbers with Gizmo.
4) Raketu- Pretty decent service which offers FREE calls to 42 countries. I am rating it higher than VOIPbuster/Discount for the very reason thats its not a clone and it uses a diff technology than skype. Skype uses Supernodes which can be vulnerable to hacking. I covered that issues in my blog earlier. Additionally it integrates with Yahoo, MSN messengers etc.
Benefits: Better technology, Clear Voice, 42 countries FREE, Integrate with other messengers
Drawbcks- Haven't found any yet.
5) VOIPBuster/VOIPDiscount: Both these companies are a total rip-off from VOIPcheap. even their softwares are identical and i wonder they are all one company with different websites and company name. But sorry to say they suck at the voice quality. They offer the same service as
VOIPcheap.
Benefits:1 or more additional countries (Thailand + mobile) on Voipdiscount.
Drawbacks: Low voice quality
Please drop your comments about the list. If you agree/dont agree, please let me know. If you have your TOP5 please let us know.
Ultimately to hammer down their biggest competitor, they have taken a pretty bold step to attack Skype right in their head. Their current campaign on almost all betamax provider websites such as voipcheap, lowratevoip etc is "skype increased the rate, its time to switch to Voipcheap or voipbuster and so on. The campaign might be different on other websites but the idea is the same.
I wouldn't really want to talk much about their anti-skype campaigns, so lets forget it for the time being, unless its inspires me and deserves a post.
So getting back to the topic, Voipbuster is about to release a new PRO version of their software. According to them, Voipbuster Pro will be the easiest and most affordable way to get the best out of Voipbuster. This all-in-one package will be launching very soon for just €1 per month.
With Skype Pro you can ONLY make national calls for €0 per minute, but with Voipbuster Pro you can make NATIONAL as well as INTERnational calls for €0 per minute!
Holy Cow!!!!!!!!!!!! if thats true, it would be interesting to see if they giveaway FREE Calls to countries such as India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and other countries known to have fascist VOIP regulations. If it will come into reality, it will definitely become a big hit. 1 euro per month for a unlimited call is worth, a certain free minutes of Gizmocall each day :-)
Currently gizmocall is the best bet though, if you haven't tried it. Go for it
I will keep you all posted on Voipbuster and its availability. If you read this blog regularly, you wont miss a thing :-)
1) First thing first, you need to download VOIPcheap
2) If you are not from the Free list of countries such as USA, UK, Singapore etc. You can check the list here, then you need to read this hack
3) Either way, you will read to this step. You can now make calls via VOIPcheap
- You can use a PC to PC Call (for which you need to have a contact in your address book)
- You can make a PC to Phone Call (Just dial a Internation number as seen below.
Use the Dialogue box and type the number you wish to dial in international format (Country Code+ Area code+Phone number) and then click dial (the green icon). This will invoke the call and dial out the party. You can talk using your microphone.Note: You can see that I have (Only FREE Trial Calls Av
ailable)
- The other way to dial is using Directdial, this way you can call using your own landline/mobile phone. This will not be possible for countries not listed in FREE LIST, since VOIP cheap wont give a call back to you.
number and then the destination number. and then click Call. Now VOIPcheap will first call YOU and then makes a call to the other party.Note: This will disclose your Caller ID to the other party if that other party has a Caller ID function which most of the mobile operators have.
I guess this guide was self-explanatory and you will now be able to make FREE CALLS.

Now i am posting some screenshots to whose who questioned me about FREE CALLS and didn't believe that you can make FREE CALLS after the trial period is over or you need some Money in your account to make free calls. This isnt true. As you can already see that I dont have any money in my account and i can still make calls. These calls were between Singapore & Hong Kong.
If you still have any doubts or questions, feel free to drop your comment
This offer applies to all existing PhonePower Customers and of course new customers. PhonePower is a newest VOIP home phone service company in the USA and you can start enjoying their services for as low as $8.33/ per month which will give you unlimited free calls to USA and Canada.
PhonePower has 2 plans mainly for residential and small business users. It can get confusing to understand the plans with so many features bundled with it.

I highly recommend signing up for 2 year prepay plan for 2 reasons, you get a second line for free which you can use anywhere you like. Secondly, you pay $200 for 2 years, that means your effective rate for 1 month becomes $200/24 months = $8.33 per month. This is probably the best cheapest VOIP Phone service in the USA which makes it a good option for people looking to save money within USA and Canada during this tough times. Recession is catching up on all of us, do you still want to pay $20 per month to services like Vonage? Think again.
During December, PhonePower is also going to offer free international calls to all phonepower users to many destinations (See below).
United Kingdom,Spain,Ireland,Israel,Germany,Singapore,France,Denmark,Greece,Italy,China.
One of the most striking feature of PhonePower is they don't have any monthly contract like all the rest of the VOIP Providers. That means you can cancel their service if you don't like to use it anymore. If you do this within the first 30 days, its FREE so no cancellation fees. However anything after 30 days, will be charged a cancellation fee. However they won't recover the contract fees from you since there is no contract.
If you are a existing customer, please let us know your review about PhonePower. Please no reviews from Phonepower competitors :-) I know every VOIP Provider lurking on this blog :-)
Well..here is the solution for that problem and now be happy coz although you cant call them..They can surely call you.
It took me some time to figure out this voipcheap hack...So please read it carefully before you try your hands at it.
Lets see how this voipcheap hack will work
What happens When you register for VOIPcheap?
Voipcheap will track your IP address at the time of registration. for e.g you are registering from USA or UK, the Id will enable you to make FREE calls since these countries fall under the FREE calls Beta version promotion by Voipcheap.
What if I am registering from India?
Voipcheap will trace your IP to india and blocks all outgoing FREE calls. You can however make one call, i heard different reports from people. One of my brother was able to make 30 calls within India. You better check it on your own. It might be possible that they have restricted FREE calls to 30 for non-FREE destinations like India.
Whats the hack?
The hack is to register from a proxy which belongs to the FREE destinations country. Voipcheap will trace your IP to the foreign country and will let you call FREE to these destinations for unlimited time.
Now you can ask your parents/Bro in India to set this up and make calls FREE.
Do drop your views/comments/original hacks etc.
If you like to use my hack or work on this, please LINK me back. I have spent several hours to figure out this hack myself :-) now you can make free calls from india.
if you are looking for free calls to india? then read this post
Does that work for you?? Let me know. If you find any issues with this hack or improvements, please drop comments. They are always welcome.

GizmoCall a SIPphone service has launched a new web-based voice-over-IP (VoIP) service that will allow users making phone calls directly from their web browser. It all based on Flash.
I wonder how many other websites do that. It doesnt seem Jajah used Flash. However, I am not able to find any real difference in using Flash Plugin to make a call. I will do some study and testing and will post some results.
Back to the news, The web based interface allows the users to enter the enter in international format such as (+12221112121) and then click Call. If you dont have a flash plug-in installed (first time users), then it will ask you to install the plug-in. Just install and it will automatically recognise it. Then the call is sent out to the number you wanted to call.
You need to use headphones (or speaker) and mic to talk.
According to the website, Users get five minutes of calling per day to just about any phone number and can double that if they register with an email address. For more calls, users can purchase Call Out minutes. Besides PSTN phones they can call for free google talk users, Windows Live users, Gizmo Project users and any other SIP address/device.
This sounds too good to be true.
Important TIP: when i made a call, the 5 mins timer started running. I wonder if they track users by IP address. What if you use a proxy :D...maybe we can make more calls by using a hack. Let me try and find some solutions. I am currently at office and can't use any proxies here.
Make a Call nowToday (17th May) is my birthday and I thought its time for me to give some international talktime to my readers so they can call their friends and family. I am giving away total $100 talktime. This international call credit will be from LocalPhone.
Surprisingly, LocalPhone wanted to the part of this event and they generously sponsored $50 talktime. That means, I will be putting my $50 + LocalPhone's $50 making it a total of $100. The call credit will be given to 20 people @ $5 per person.
Now lets see how you can win this free international call credit.
1) Register yourself at LocalPhone (If you have a existing localphone account, skip this step)
2) Follow VOIPGuide on Twitter (I hope most of you know what twitter is all about, if not read a bit on twitter first).
3) Try to post some tweets (this is optional but this can improve your chances of being chosen as lucky winner).
4) Very Important Step: Send email to ut(dot)godmode@gmail.com with your twitter username and LocalPhone username for me to verify.
This is really easy to win. I am going to choose the winner randomly or based on your tweet comments (if i find something interesting).
How following VOIP Guide on twitter would help you?
You would get some really quicker updates to new VOIP Phone services or international calling rates which are often not advertised but known to me personally. It would be a good platform for all of you to be engage with the blog and you can share some tips back to me via twitter.
When will the winners be announced?
This competition is open till tomorrow(around 48 hrs from now). I will post the winner most likely on 19th May 2008. Watch out for this space if you are the lucky winner.
When will the winners get the international call credit?
LocalPhone promised to credit the talktime within 48 hrs from the time the winners are declared.
How can I use my LocalPhone Call credit?
LocalPhone is a great service, it also won the VOIP Guide's Cheap International Provider of the year award in 2008. You can use Localphone through 66000 access numbers across the world, or you can also use Localphone via SIP. If you have a localphone VOIP account, you can use X-lite, or localphone SIP client or your own SIP Phone and setup Localphone account. Localphone also offers a free UK incoming number with their VOIP service. If your localphone VOIP service is not enabled, ask localphone support. If you win $5 Localphone credit, you can make upto 172 minutes of calls (approx 3 hrs calls) to India (landline + Mobile). Of course, you can call any other country in the world.
Participate in this competition and give me a chance to give back to the community. VOIP Guide was never built by me, it was always built by the readers. Thanks you everyone and I want to see large number of people participating in this competition.
